About YALP: The Yerevan Academy for Linguistics and Philosophy (YALP) is a renowned summer school program that began in 2017. Every year, it brings together more than 50 undergraduate and graduate students, fostering a vibrant community of learners. Students from Armenia and other countries in the region are welcome to participate, broadening the perspectives and creating a diverse learning environment.
The aim of YALP is to provide students with an exceptional platform to enhance their knowledge and skills in linguistics and philosophy. It also serves as a stepping stone for those considering applying to doctoral programs in philosophy or linguistics, including programs in the USA and Europe. At YALP, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with renowned scholars, collaborate with fellow enthusiasts, and immerse yourself in stimulating academic discussions.
Important Information: Participation in the Yerevan Academy for Linguistics and Philosophy is free of charge. While we are currently working to secure funding to help with housing costs for students, please plan your budget with the assumption that you will be responsible for your own housing expenses during your participation in YALP.
Save the Date: YALP 2023 is scheduled to take place from July 31st to August 11th, 2023. Mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable summer filled with learning, networking, and personal growth.
Gratitude and Support: We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the American University of Armenia (AUA) for generously hosting YALP and to USC’s Institute of Armenian Studies for their invaluable support. It is through these partnerships that we can continue to provide exceptional educational opportunities to aspiring linguists and philosophers.
